Renata Litvinova

Renata Litvinova is a Russian actress, director, and screenwriter. She was born to Russian mother and Tatar father. Renata's mother loved cinema and this influenced the daughter's choice of profession.

In 1984 Renata entered Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGUK ), the story department. She made an acting debut in "Uvlechenia" ("Passions"), directed by Kira Muratova which won best picture at the Nika Awards in 1994. Her directing debut was the film "Net smerti dlya menya" ("There is no death for me"). But she was widely known as an actress after TV mini-series "Granitsa. Tayozhnyy roman" (2001) and TV projects of NTV and MUZTV. Litvinova is titled a self-made woman and she made a way from the script writer to a director of the own film "Boginya: kak ya polyubila" ("The Goddess: How I Fell in Love"). She is also the author of films about popular rock singer Zemfira - "Zelyonyy teatr v Zemfire" (2008) and "Zemfira" (2007) and directed music video of the singer.

Litvinova gained an international recognition as a film director and was the members of the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2002, the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2008 and Moscow International Film Festival in 2007. She lives and works in Moscow.
